Yoga

Hi dear yogi’s,

My name is Birgit, in general unpronounceable so you can call me Bee. I teach yoga and pilates. My favorite thing to teach is creative vinyasa flows.

As the founder of Birsway and Our Morning Flow, I have a deep passion for yoga and a desire to share its incredible benefits with the world. I have spent years practicing and teaching yoga, witnessing first-hand the positive impact it has on people’s lives and my own.

In the Western world, yoga has been perceived as something that was only a practice for elderly ladies who couldn’t get a real workout in. With my experience of teaching in-person classes in yoga studios and a fitness center, I realized teaching in a fitness center makes yoga more accessible to the broader public. Being able to just drop in, finding a quiet spot in the back of the room and try, without having to go to an actual yoga studio or having to sign-up for a new membership makes the practice more approachable.

With that I noticed by just chatting with the members in our gym, who range from 14 to 85 years old, coming from all kinds of places and having all different backgrounds, there is a big interest in the practice of yoga. Some need a little push to give it a try, but they all end up leaving the class feeling mentally and physically relaxed. And with the intention of coming back and practicing again. Is it for receiving the benefits of feeling more balanced mentally or increasing their performance in the gym.

Bringing the Frisian down-to-earth approach to yoga, aids in its approachability of the practice.

Time and time again I’ve been asked, by students who had to move away from our city, if I’d be willing to start teaching online.

Recognizing the limitations of traditional yoga studios and the increasing demand for online wellness solutions, I envision Our Morning Flow as a platform that will bridge the gap between physical and virtual yoga experiences. Practicing wherever, whenever.

From years of practicing, teaching and studying I came to understand that yoga is not just a physical practice but a deeply personal journey, and with Birsway, I am striving to create a supportive and inclusive community where individuals can connect, grow, and thrive. My aim is tho let the online platfor be a reflection of the open, loving and appreciable space I create during in-person classes. Where I know the names of my students, ask how they are doing and chat with them about their days. The goal is to create this sense of community and connection online likewise.
